  • A trust creates an entity to hold your family’s assets and allows those assets to pass outside of probate. The court supervised probate process has fees and can take quite a bit of time before the assets are distributed. You can avoid the probate process by creating a trust and a will. This allows you to designate who will inherit your assets. It creates the smoothest process for your loved ones and beneficiaries.   • Probate is the legal process of transferring a decedent’s assets to his/her beneficiaries per the State’s pre-determined plan. It does not take into account the need of any of your beneficiaries. It is usually best to enlist legal assistance in this matter. I am happy to walk you through the process in a free consultation.

Our Estate Planning Process

Talk

Our first call or visit is always no obligation and no cost so that I can explain our process, answer any questions you may have, and make sure we are a good fit.

Sign a Retainer

Once you have made the decision to move forward with my firm, we will formalize our agreement by signing an attorney client retainer agreement. I will also collect your flat fee retainer.

Meet

This will be an in-depth meeting to review your family’s needs, assets, and medical wishes. I will discuss who you would like to nominate as a guardian of minor children as well as other pertinent topics so I can provide you with a custom and comprehensive estate plan.

Finish Your Trust

Before you execute your estate plan, you will have an opportunity to review it. We will then meet to execute your estate planning documents. Once we are finished, you can enjoy knowing that your family will have less to worry about after you are gone.
